MAEA Opening
Last night was the MAEA opening. Quite nice work. My work, naturally did not win any awards. Photographs of a chair still life seem to have wowed the judges. I only expect this of course for an art show of work created by art teachers. When will the world of art education link up with the world of art? Oh well. Laverne won for her figurative work that was close to the edge. Congrats Laverne! There is some hope! I'm not a sore loser at all, just getting so use to being one.
Thanks Marcia for the pics! Thanks Millie and Ivan for tagging along!
Mom showed up which made the whole evening worth it! We all went for dinner and were serenaded by mariachi singers !

New Eye Glass cases for the Fall
This sunday , Septmeber 9, I will be at the Catonsville Fall Arts and Crafts Festival with my mother-in-law, Nuit, selling our wares. I've been making more totes and eye glass cases that lean towards the fall side. Cardinals have made their way into my newest designs.
The fall fest begins at 10AM on Frederick Road, Main Street! I'll be on the corner at Winters Lanes, right in front of Ships Cafe!
opening this Friday
I have three pieces in this show: Elsy, Allison and Steven. Would love to see friendly faces at the opening! They usually have good eats at their openings. (Sorry I keep showing the same pieces these days...the painting studio is under construction..meaning its all in a corner in the basement. Waiting for cooler weather to begin construction of gallery walls.iTs hard to get excited about showing the same work. If you haven't seen these in person, try to stop on by, or if you want to free snack and just happen to be in the area)
Come see Maryland Art Teachers that are also artists!

Vintage Tea Towels
i've been searching for tea towel material. I got some from reprodepot and made some birdie print tea towles that did very well at Artscape. So well I sold out. Now i can't find the same type of yardage. anyone know? give me a heads up. Anyway, in my serach i stumled onto Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics. I posted my favorite tea towels. they remind me so much of my grandmother and my great aunt anna. I got a number of their tea towels that I cherish so much.
