Halter Top Complete!!!

This has been a fun week of fun sewing projects! I love these Amy Butler patterns and I can't seem to escape Joel Dewberry's fabric collections. So here is the melting of my two favorite designers! Now its back to making more jennyjen products because Pile of Craft is right around the corner and next weekend is a great girls weekend escape to NYC! One more week of school!

Next Sewing Project

I was quite happy with my last Amy Butler dress that I decided to keep on keeping on. My Cabo Halter dress pattern showed up today in the mail with two yards of Joel Dewberry's Antler Damask in Terracotta fabric from his Deer Valley Collection. So tonight's its back to the sweatshop for a little sewing enjoyment and the next three episodes of The Tudors! Man, this isn't the Henry the Eight series my parents made us watch back in the 70's!

New Dress in Town

I just got finshed making my new Amy Butler pattern dress. I love this Joel Dewberry Antler Damask in Sky pattern from his Deer Valley series. Once in a while I actually squeeze in some time to make something for me. Can't wait to wear it tomorrow for graduation!

Being a Crafty Bastard

Being a crafty bastard means you are crazy busy, cutting and gluing, sewing and constructing, constructing and sewing, taking pictures and ignoring your blog. In fact I would be even more productive if I took my computer out of my sweat shop! I sold a tote bag today on my etsy site, that I had already sold at Hampden Fest! ugh:( I need a clone! So, I decided not to post my new items on my site, but post them here. So if you want it, you have to come to Crafty Bastards this Sunday in DC. I've been working on sturdy tool rolls that are lined with stiff interfacing and more narrative stitching on the exterior. More flap bags and I'm bringing back Otis the Owl tote with a chest of bric brac. So come on down for an afternoon or music crafts and fun! Map can be found here.

oooooooo, a new find and it isn't friday

i had to post this one because I'm really diggin' these patterns. I found cicadastudio's Shop on etsy today. I love these original patterns on linen ...i'm thinking they are too nice to felt applique' birdie birds on them.

i've added my favorite flower...good thing I live in Maryland....the black eye susan joins Mr. green Bird on this new tote design. I just added it to my etsy shop.

look what we made today!

Patrick is a downhill bicyclist...meaning he rides down what people ski down in the winter time...except more in the woods...over rocks and roots....not straight down the mountain....at least they try not to go straight down. anyway, this weekend is the US open in Vernon New Jersey...yes they have something like a mountain in New Jersey. if you haven't strayed onto the traction mag link from my site...check it out today...in fact do it now and you will see what i'm talking about. he and his buddy Dave have lined up some great photo shoots as well as Red bull having a photo contest during the event, and they wanted some way to capture the view from a biker's chest...you know right behind the handle bars... so we partnered up...Patrick and I and made our own version of a camera harness. i always wanted to be part of a think tank...how great to have your own think tank happening in your own home! check it out. i really need to expand my totes into more variations of bags...need to check out strap options.

my favorite interiors

design*sponge posted more from surtex 2008 and featured some great photo's from one of my favorite fabric designers joel dewberry. i have been obssesed lately and have included a lot of his fabrics. Nice to find out he is as wonderful as his designs are. i find his color and pattern choices to be perfect for my peacock and owl totes.

New Line of Birdy Bird Totes!

I've been getting ready for the spring and upcoming events...especially getting my totes in the Baltimore Magazine for the April issue! So I've been reflecting over what my customers have been telling me...wanting longer straps, continue the small totes for only carrying around the essentials, and keep up with the birds! I've been playing around with new colors. Yellow canvas! Still looking for other colors. Found a very bright orange but it feels too much like hunter orange..don't think that will be a selling point. I'd like to hear any other suggestions..if you have a jennyjen bag, I'd love to hear form you and how it is holding up...with any other suggestions for improvement!

New Apron Design

I need feedback on this one. one of my first designs by scratch! I wanted an apron that didn't pull on your neck and something that felt more nostalgic. Something most classic. Any comments are greatly appreciated.
